Slate Magazine
In 2022, I was hired to be the lead producer for Slate’s twice-weekly tech news podcast What Next: TBD. In my time at Slate, I’ve accomplished many things, both personally and professionally. I’ve climbed up to a Senior Producer role; I lead the editorial vision for the show; I manage a small team of producers; and most importantly, I tell powerful, impactful stories our listeners want to hear from guests that matter.
I’ve produced hundreds of shows for Slate. Below are a few examples of the work I am most proud of.
Markiplier Goes to Hollywood
How the YouTuber Mark Fischbach took “Iron Lung” to the Big Screen
Markiplier has been entertaining millions of fans on YouTube for over a decade. But his new movie Iron Lung - which he self-financed, directed, wrote and acted in - was a smash at the box office, not on his YouTube channel. Is it proof that he’s more than a YouTuber? Or is it proof that Hollywood is thinking about the platform and its creators all wrong?

I also produced the show for video, which you can find below.
We Made a Memecoin (2026 WGA Award Nominee)
Because—how hard could it be?
Memecoins are a niche type of cryptocurrency with no intrinsic value. But they remain a popular form of crypto, as seen earlier this year with President Trump’s own memecoin. And if it worked for him, then why not our little podcast?

After the podcast was released, we saw our memecoin explode in value, hitting a $2 million dollar market cap and leaving us bewildered. So we invited Azeem Khan, a UNICEF crypto advisor and our guide when making this coin, back on the show to help us make sense of what happened.
This show was part of a larger package created by Slate to explain cryptocurrency to the masses. You can find that package here.
Stephen King Is Just as Confused About Blue Checks as You Are (2024 WGA Award Nominated)
A meltdown over its subscription service reveals Twitter’s wheels coming off.
Twitter’s “blue check” verification went from something you applied for, to something you could pay for, to something you had to pay for…to something that many celebrities wouldn’t even accept for free. Master of horror Stephen King told us he wouldn’t pay for a blue check, but he’s not going to fight it either—he just doesn’t really understand what’s going on. Does anyone at Twitter understand?
